Esta cinta francesa se estrenó en mayo pasado durante el festival de Cannes, y desde entonces ha recogido elogios por cuanto sitio se ha exhibido; incluso fue considerada entre las candidatas para representar a su país en los Oscar (quedándose con tal distinción Untouchables). En México ya pudo disfrutarse en septiembre pasado en algunas ciudades al formar parte del 16º Tour de Cine Francés. La actuación de Marion Cotillard es considerada por la crítica como la mejor del 2012, incluso por encima de Isabelle Huppert en Amour.
De rouille et d’os nos cuenta la historia que surge entre Alain (un convincente Alain van Versch) y Stéphanie (Cotillard). El primero, divorciado vigilante y padre de un pequeño que se gana la vida en peleas clandestinas de kickboxing; ella, entrenadora de orcas en un centro de entrenimiento en la costa francesa y que durante uno de los espectáculos sufre el cruel embate del enorme mamífero quedando discapacitada a raiz de ello. La vida para ninguno de los dos es fácil, pero los ha colocado en ese espacio de interacción del que aún intentando escapar es imposible hacerlo.
¿Cómo continuar después de un accidente de tal magnitud? ¿Cómo reconstruirse emocionalmente, por encima de lo físico, para no dejarse avasallar por la tragedia? Tales sensaciones son las que consigue capturar Jacques Audiar, dejando de lado el menor vestigio de autocondescendencia y permitiendo al espectador conocer la crudeza que implica levantarse y ayudar en el camino a otros a hacer lo mismo, incluso fuera del gusto sino por la necesidad de romper con la inercia de la derrota.
Intensa, dolorosa y emotiva película que nos permite contemplar un cine fuera del acostumbrado hollywoodense que vale mucho la pena disfrutar.
